The Top 5 Alcohol Treatment Centers in the US

Over 14 million people have been diagnosed as having alcohol use disorder (AUD). This is a mental disorder that refers to an addiction to alcohol. Treatment includes support groups, behavioral therapy, and medication when necessary.

There are three levels of AUD: mild, moderate, or severe. This means that each person will need to find the right treatment to help them recover. Although many alcohol treatment centers use the same principles (including the 12-step program first created by Alcoholics Anonymous), not all treatment centers are the same.

To make it as simple as possible, at Patients View General Health, we researched and selected the top alcohol treatment centers.

whispering oaks lodge#2 Whispering Oaks Lodge

The team at Whispering Oaks Lodge specializes in the treatment of alcohol addiction and dependence. Their focus as a rehabilitation and treatment center for alcohol addiction is treating each client as an individual. In order for recovery to be possible – whether it is from alcohol or drugs – they identify any underlying causes of the addiction.

They believe the foundation to an effective treatment experience is helping clients and their families identify traumatic issues that have never been fully addressed. As their staff learns more about the individual, they develop a plan to minimize the recurrence of addiction triggers and present a toolkit of knowledge and strategy to cope with triggers as they present themselves.

Alcohol treatment that is specifically designed for the individual has been proven effective. Once a client is admitted into treatment, their staff will begin with an evaluation to help determine what will make recovery possible for them. When struggling with alcoholism, residential treatment is a great option because it provides essential 24/7 supervision by medical staff during withdrawal.

If residential treatment is not an option, they also offer an intensive outpatient treatment program. All treatment programs provide the client with complete privacy in a comfortable environment that has been created for their recovery.

The Ranch Tennessee is located in the rolling hills just an hour north of Nashville. It uses its natural surroundings for treatment. Although The Ranch has a Pennsylvania facility, its Tennessee location is where its alcohol addiction program is located.

Outpatient and inpatient addiction treatment is available. The unique 12-step outdoor program is also offered. However, the best part about The Ranch’s in-patient services is that they offer unique additions such as equine therapy and adventure therapy.

The Ranch Tennessee is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers treatment options for adults with addictions to drugs, alcohol, or other mental disorders (such as eating disorders). The length of treatment can vary, as does the cost. However, in-patient treatment is a way to live in a community, take turns cooking meals, and receive support from other members.

There are two types of short-term and long-term options available: one for those who need it, which can last up to 28 days. The other is for those who require more time. Rooted is a free service that offers virtual recovery meetings every day, even after treatment ends.

The Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities are both accredited to Oxford Treatment Center. A partnership has also been established with the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Florida also has full-service Caron centers, but they do not offer gender-specific programming. Caron Pennsylvania has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. It offers in-network coverage with Aetna and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Independence Blue Cross, AmeriHealth, and Quest Behavioral Health for a minimum of 28 days.

Signature programs offer more traditional treatment, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and 12-step programming. However, they also provide brain mapping and access to a nutritionist and certified fitness trainers as well as holistic therapies like yoga.
